Like I’m Being Chased

Albeit Very Slowly

In effort to stave off the inevitable decay brought about by getting older, I have begun to run.  Every morning at 5:30-ish, I drag my ponderous (according to Wii Fit) bulk out of bed and hurl it sluggishly down the darkened streets of the Red Stick.  For 40 or so minutes I am acutely aware of the ravages wrought upon me by the aging process and years of neglect. But then I get the self satisfaction of a job bumblingly done and mild twinges of joint and muscle pain all day long.

Oh.  And my beard’s going gray.

Thanks, nature.
