I’m so glad I decided to watch the news this morning, because I learned that the Hummer brand of vehicles has failed. It is no more. GM only sold 9,000 of those ugly monstrosities last year (which is 9,000 too many, but oh, well) and no one wants to buy the brand. Thank you, people of America, for choosing to spend your automobile dollars on something other than a troop transport.

We’re all busy. Despite the fact we’ve robots to Simoniz our automobiles and collate our Telexes, whitewash the fences and worst the wool, life finds myriad ways to deplete our meager supply of that most precious resource: time.
That is why Equality Now for Robot-Pet hybrids has installed a mobile browser theme so that you might keep up with us on the go. I’m not sure how many of you possess one of those mobile telecommunication devices – I’m really not convinced that they’ll catch on, myself – but if you do, feel free to enjoy our little corner of the Internet from any locale you see fit.
Just don’t tell us about it.
Painted Plastic Nightmareland
We took Tiny to his cousin’s birthday party at one of those indoor playland arcade places – no, not the one that serves pizza and terror; where a kid can be a kid whose dreams are haunted by animatronic rats in cheerleader outfits – another place. I think it’s local. He had a blast. We had a blast. Read more…
Did Anybody Notice?
It got a bit chilly last weekend.
A low of 17 degrees Fahrenheit in south Louisiana might as well be 0 degrees Kelvin. We just don’t expect it.
According to different sources, my house is somewhere between 70 and 90 years old. It sits above the ground and has exposed plumbing in the crawlspace beneath. Nobody in the house’s entire history has insulated the pipes. Why? Because they never had to.
Last weekend brought an incredible cold spell. Despite the fact that we left our water dripping, the pipes froze and I had to use a heat gun to thaw them. We were lucky not to have any breaks. Three people on my hallway at work had some level of damage done by the freeze.
On a positive note, I am very familiar now with my plumbing system. I just hope I won’t be getting any more familiar with the pipes any time soon.
